I am a psychologist with over 20 years experience in rehabilitation psychology, neuropsychological assessment and positive behaviour support. In addition to my clinical and medico-legal work, I have broad experience at a senior level in policy and practice, service development and project management. This includes over four years as practice leader in disability psychology with the NSW Department of Family and Community Services and three years as principal psychologist with St Vincent's Public Hospital in Sydney. Earlier in my career I held appointments in the United Kingdom (UK) as director of psychology services with the Transitional Rehabilitation Unit, and as clinical team leader and consultant neuropsychologist with the UK's Brain Injury Rehabilitation Trust.
I have a particular interest in motivational interviewing when a person's cognitive functioning is an issue. Motivational interviewing is an empathic evidence based approach to helping a person change behaviour. I provide seminars and training in motivational interviewing in the United Kingdom and in Australia and have led Train the Trainer programs for organisations in both the corporate and public sector. I am a member of the peak international Trainers' group The Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers (MINT). For more information about MINT please go to
